Registration for Three Provincial Draft Certifications Now Open
The certifications are free of charge, and take approximately four hours. Athletes are given multiple opportunities to practice and go over the required skill sets before certification is determined.
Participants must register and be 2018 Triathlon Ontario members. While there are no competitions that require 12-13 year old athletes to be certified, athletes of that age that believe they poses the necessary skill sets are welcome to take the certification.

Draft legal certification is required for those wishing to participate in the 14-15 Youth Cup, Junior Cup, Elite/U23 Cup, Ontario Summer Games and any national or international draft legal competition other than Age Group racing.
While Triathlon Ontario encourages clubs and coaches to run drafting clinics and incorporate drafting skill sets in their daily training environments, the actual certifications are conducted by the Provincial Development Coach to ensure consistency across the province.
The certification checklist and drafting manual is available on the Triathlon Ontariowebsite. Athletes, parents and coaches are encouraged to review those reference materials and best prepare for the certifications as well as incorporate drafting drills in their regular training.
