Last Chance to Buy a Set of Wheels & Support Future Olympians
Did Santa forget to bring you everything you really wanted this Christmas? Calgary-based high performance carbon wheel manufacturer EnergyLab Sports, is now the official wheel supplier of Triathlon Ontario’s Provincial Development Team.
In addition to directly supporting the Provincial Development Team, EnergyLab Sports has agreed to donate 15% of the purchase price and layaway orders of its popular VC60 carbon wheel set or its deeper sets, the VC75s or VC90s, to Triathlon Ontario’s Youth and Junior development programs.
The purchases and layaway orders must be entered through this special link for the donation to take place. The donation program will run from now until January 30, 2016. EnergyLab is a great Canadian company supporting great Canadian athletes (Andrew Yorke, Jonanna Brown etc.) so if you are looking for excellent new wheels, support a Canadian company supporting Canadian (and Ontario) athletes!

Check out the third edition of our Provincial Development Team on our special new Team webpage that profiles each of our 13 athletes. The Team is made up of the top Junior and U23 athletes in the Province so now we all know who they are we can all get behind them and cheer them on.
2016 NCCP Coaching Courses
Triathlon Ontario has created four new NCCP Community Level coaching courses in early 2016 across the province. If you have an interest in becoming a coach, learning more about our sport or a self-coached athlete, be sure to check out one of the following recently revamped courses in your area.

Don’t forget, if you have completed a course and are looking for additional knowledge and build on your technical coaching skills, try one of our Online Continuing Education courses.
We have two courses in the Series so far, “Introduction to Swimming for Triathlon” taught be Mike Rutledge and “Exercise Physiology for Triathlon” taught by Dr. Greg Wells. Learn at your own speed and the comfort of your own home!
First Provincial Championships of 2016 Set For Jan. 31
Personal Best and McMaster University are once again hosting the third year of the popular Triathlon Ontario Indoor Provincial Championships.
The format is simple, swim as many lengths of the pool as you can for 15 min, hold the highest average watts as you can on a stationary bike as you can for 15 min, and then run as many laps around the indoor track as you can in 15 min.

Try Your First Winter Triathlon Jan. 30
Winter is here but that doesn’t mean you can’t embrace the great outdoors! Join hundreds of winter enthusiasts on Sat, Jan 30th at 8am and participate in a truly unique event.
This great event is one of the oldest Winterlude activities and exemplifies what winter in the Nation’s Capital is all about-skating on the Rideau Canal, coupled with cross-country skiing and running.
Distances include an 8km skate (weather dependent), 8km ski and 5km run.

Draft Legal Age Group Racing is Coming…
No need to get scared of the dreaded “DL” Age Groupers but more and more racing at the International and National level are becoming draft legal. For example, the 2016 World Championships for Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon are now draft legal and so are National Championships being held in Ottawa this year for Age Groupers.

Join the TTC for their second annual Winter Training Camp in Tucson, Arizona from April 10-17th, 2016.
This action packed 7 night training camp is aimed at the intermediate athlete who wants to improve their skills and gain early season volume and distance. The camp is designed for athletes training for Olympic, Half and Full distance races, but is beneficial for athletes at all levels – limit of 18 athletes.
To help you reach your goals at the training camp, there will be 2 NCCP trained coaches and 2 NCCP trained group leaders creating an amazing ratio of 4.5 athletes per coach!

LPC Functional Threshold Power Testing Service
LPC offers FTP bike testing sessions for triathletes and cyclists of all abilities. Schedule an FTP Test to help: track improvements in fitness, pace more optimally, establish power training zones that reflect current fitness, and identify potential bike fit and pedaling inefficiencies.

LPC Florida March Break Camp
LPC is offering a triathlon camp in Orlando, Florida from March 5th to 12th, 2016. This week-long camp is ideal for adult triathletes of all abilities (beginner to advanced). Campers will enjoy the spacious accommodations, and neighbouring surroundings, of Emerald Island Resort, scenic rolling roads for cycling, and beautiful orange grove running trails. The National Training Center, and the 350 meter River Island Pool at Orange Lake Resort, will be home to technical swims that will feature stroke correction, above water and underwater video analysis, and open water simulations.
Fully assembled bike transport is available to/from Guelph, London, and Windsor.

2016 NRG Winter Training Camps in Clermont, Florida
Wanting to escape from winter? Join us in Florida Feb 13-20 or Feb 27-Mar 5 for a great week of training in the heat! Our NRG camps are open to all athletes, with hands on coaching from some of the top coaches in the country.
This is an all-inclusive camp with airport pickup, food, prepared dinners and a great coach to athlete ratio. This is a great chance to get away from winter and get a head start on your season! 2016 NRG Europe Camp
Menton, France April 28-May 8. This is our 12th year of running camps in Europe and Menton has been our best location yet. Just 15km from Nice and 5km from Monaco and Italy, we are on the water for easy access to open water swimming in the Mediterranean and at the foot of the famous Col de la Madone that many of the world’s top cyclists use to test their fitness. Enjoy 8 days of fully supported swim/bike/run training with the NRG team in France!
