FilCanTri is a group of Filipino-Canadian Triathletes across Ontario.
Its logo speaks of the group’s character. The colours red, yellow, and blue— symbolize the colours of the Philippines and the Canadian flag. It was intended to be colourful so as to stand out from others. The symbol of Swim, Bike, Run on the red feathers represent what member-triathletes do. The stars on the top of it are from the three stars of the Philippine flag, which are the goals of each member in this multisport. The feathers are inspired by a Phoenix bird, which in Greek mythology is a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated and reborn.
This renewal, transformation, or regeneration can mean different things for each member. It can be about his/her transformation into an exceptional man/woman, a renewal in his/her life that this sport brings…but more importantly, we want it to mean that “when faced with difficulty, we will not quit but we will come back reborn anew”.
