Objective
The purpose of the annual Youth Club Championship is to encourage the growth and development of the youth club system in Ontario and to encourage and promote friendly competition between clubs in a sanctioned environment.
The winning club’s name will be engraved on the trophy and an award will be presented to the club at the annual year end Awards Banquet.
Events
The 2024 Youth Club Championships will be contested over two events. The 14-15 age group portion will be contested at Triathlon Ontario’s Draft Legal Provincial Championships in Welland on August 31, 2024 and the 12-13 age group will be contested at MultiSport Canada’s Lakeside KOS in Lakeside on September 7th, 2024.
All Triathlon Ontario Sanctioned Clubs are welcome to participate.
Eligibility
Clubs must be sanctioned with Triathlon Ontario and their members must also be members of Triathlon Ontario.
Athletes competing in the 12-13 or 14-15 age categories and are a member of a sanctioned club are eligible to score points for their club.
Only those participants that are members of the sanctioned club at the time of the competition are eligible to score points for the Club Championship.
Only members listed on the official club list maintained in the Triathlon Ontario office will be eligible to score for a club. If an athlete has joined a club after becoming a Triathlon Ontario member, it is up to the athlete to inform Triathlon Ontario of the change in membership status.
Scoring
Each club is allowed to use its best point total scored by its members up to a maximum of five male and five female athletes. The point totals can come from any mix of results from either the 12-13 or 14-15 categories.
