Lee Hart spent the first half of his athletic career as a high level competitive swimmer on the Canadian National circuit and while attending the University of Guelph. As a Certified NCCP competitive triathlon, draft legal cycling, and swim coach, Lee brings a strong technical background to support and develop athletes at all levels. He is the founder and Head Coach of the Tri-Hart team and also coaches swimming for the Golden Horseshoe Aquatic Club based in Hamilton, Ontario and surrounding area.
After University, the decision was made to leave competitive swimming for the world of Triathlon, transitioning successfully, qualifying, competing, and producing top placing within his age group at World Championships for both Olympic and Ironman 70.3 distances as an athlete.
Lee has successfully transferred the skills learned, through competing in both swimming and triathlon, to his athletes. Over the past 10 years he has produced multiple ITU Elite Canadian National Team athletes and champions such as, Andrew Bysice, Taylor and Austen Forbes, and age group Ironman and Ironman 70.3 World Championship competitors, Sheila Treleaven, Glenn Camplin, Kevin Van Geest and Colin Lavigne.
Lee’s approach to coaching is based on developing a specific training plan tailored to each individual’s fitness and training goals. His approach has allowed athletes who have never swam, biked or run before compete within the PACO North American Circuit, the U23 elite ITU and Ironman Age Group World Championships stages.
