Triathlon Ontario is hosting an NCCP Community Triathlon Coach course August 29-30 in Milton and Guelph, Ontario.
This course is the starting point for triathlon coaches, and is the primary requirement to run a club, workout, clinic, or camp sanctioned by Triathlon Ontario.
The triathlon coaching pathway has recently been updated, so this is an all-new course featuring new material and an updated practical component.
Though open to all Triathlon Ontario members, this course is one of those in the new Triathlon Community Coaching Pathway. As such, it’s particularly suited for those coaches looking to coach beginner, recreational, and age-group athletes, and those coaches working toward NCCP Community certification.
The course is interactive – coaches will plan, deliver, and participate in swim and run exercises. Coaches will bring their own bikes, as well as swim and workout clothing.
Course participants will receive a Triathlon Ontario water bottle and a Triathlon Ontario silicone swim cap.
Note: Due to COVID-19 precautions and lack of open facilities, Day 1 of this course will be outdoors in Milton, (class & run). Day 2 will be outdoors in Guelph (swim). Coaches should be prepared to travel to the above venues. Guelph Lake Conservation Area will charge $7.50 entrance, which is not included. If severe inclement weather on day 2 prevents swimming, an alternate day will be scheduled.
