The Ontario Elite/U23 Cup Series is an integral part of the Provincial Development Program. The objective of the series is to provide Elite and U23 athletes (aged 20 and older) a draft legal competitive race environment within the province.
It is Triathlon Ontario’s philosophy that developing a strong provincial race series is imperative to developing a system that encourages increased participation, skill development, club growth and a higher level of investment in the sport. A series that encompasses draft legal events allows athletes to develop the experience needed to appreciate the complexities and competitive nature of this style of racing and prepare the athletes for further competitive draft legal racing. The series is also meant to be part of the development pathway to race nationally and internationally.
The 2025 Series will have three races, a maximum of two best race results will count towards the end result. As usual, Provincials will be the season ending race that will count for additional points. Athletes can compete in one, two or all three races in the Series and still be eligible for the standings if they are current members. Please note, that if an athlete chooses the strategy to race in only two events, they accept the risk of an unforeseen circumstance (illness, mechanical, event cancellation etc.) taking place.
The male and female Series Champions will be have their names engraved on the Elite/U23 Cup trophy, presented with an award at the annual Awards Celebration and $750 each. Series second place male and female finishers will each receive $500, and the third place male and female will each receive $300.
