NCCP Community Triathlon Coach is the starting point for triathlon coaches, and completion of Parts 1 and 2 is the primary requirement to run a club, workout, clinic, or camp sanctioned by Triathlon Ontario.
The triathlon coaching pathway has recently been updated, so this is an all-new course featuring new material and an updated practical component.
The full course consists of Part 1 and Part 2. Coaches will need to complete both parts in order to be qualified.
Part 1 includes the module Coaching Beginner and Age Group Triathletes and is delivered either in-person or online.
Part 2 includes the modules Coaching and Assessing Triathlon Skills and Coaching to Events and is delivered in-person only. Part 2 is available in both the adult or the youth contexts. During Part 2, coaches will lead the mini-activities they planned in Part 1.
Though open to all Triathlon Ontario members, this course is one of those in the new Triathlon Community Coaching Pathway. As such, it’s particularly suited for those coaches looking to coach beginner, recreational, and age-group athletes, and those coaches working toward NCCP Community certification.
