Purpose of Testing
Proper athlete assessment and tracking will be done at different stages of the training and competition year. By tracking athlete progression over years of development, Triathlon Ontario will be able to assess athlete’s development and trending and use the data to identify future athletes on the high performance pathway. Tracking data will be done during three different times of the year:
Post season
Preseason
In season
By testing during different times of the year over a number of years Triathlon Ontario can track an athlete’s progression throughout the year as well as year-to-year improvements. A combination of technical and physical assessments will be used to help determine relative fitness as well as skill sets that are key components to success at the International level.
