Registration Open for Provincial Youth/Junior Development Camp Hosted by Milton Tornadoes
– Camp open to 13-18 year olds and limited to 24 spots –
January 23, 2017 – Triathlon Ontario, the recognized Provincial Governing Body of Multisport in Ontario, announced a two day provincial development camp on February 4 & 5, hosted by local Youth Club – the Milton Tornado Triathlon Club.
Provincial Development Program initiatives provide Ontario’s youth athletes the opportunity to train under the guidance of Triathlon Ontario’s Provincial Coach, within an enhanced training environment and a focus on developing skills and training vocabulary that is consistent with Triathlon Ontario’s development pathway and in keeping with best practices of the world’s leading National development programs.
The February 4/5 training camp is a coordinated effort between Provincial Coach Greg Kealey and The Milton Tornadoes Triathlon Club. This camp will provide Milton and surrounding area triathletes and coaches exposure to Provincial leadership, professional development opportunities for local coaches and gives athletes from across the province the opportunity to train together, learn and have fun.

1:30 – 3:00pm Swim Session
3:15 – 4:30pm Nutrition Seminar
4:30 – 6:00pm Bike & Brick Session, Core work
6:00 – 6:30pm Stretching & Wrap Up
Sunday Feb 5th (Mattamy Cycling Centre)
9:00-10:00am Running Session
10:00-11:00am Hydration/Sweat Rate testing
11:00 – 12:30 Bike/Brick session

Triathlon Ontario, through the Provincial Development Coach, has developed a program to increase the number of training opportunities and locations in the province through a partnership program with youth clubs and youth programs. Triathlon Ontario is is committed to building an infrastructure with the capacity to support athletes across the Province with consistent, experienced coaching while providing proper direction and support consistent with Ontario’s athlete development model, monitoring and tracking athlete development and improvements in home training environments.

The Tornadoes is a full service triathlon club located in Milton, providing expert training in swim/bike/run disciplines, health/nutrition, High Performance program, race support for adults and youth age 7+.
