Triathlon Ontario Adds Mental Skills Support to Provincial Development Program

– Integrated Support Team now includes mental skills, nutrition, sports science, bike maintenance and fitting and swim data analytics –

October 17, 2018 – Triathlon Ontario, the recognized Provincial governing body of Multisport in Ontario, announced a partnership with mental performance solution provider Elysian Insight, that will offer Provincial Development Program athletes assistance with various mental skills such as focus and distraction control.

ITU draft legal triathlon is a dynamic and demanding sport, requiring more than just physical strength, but mental strength as well. Its not always the fastest who wins but the toughest and in most cases it’s mental toughness.

Much like physical training, mental performance training is about finding gaps in the athlete’s ability to maintain focus while ignoring distractions and creating positive internal feedback for the athlete.
Triathlon Ontario recognizes the importance of developing these skills and introducing this aspect of training to young athletes along the development pathway and therefore are excited to add one of the country’s leading mental performance teams, Elysian Insight Mental Performance Solutions, to its Integrated Support Team.

Elysian Insight joins an Integrated Support Team that currently includes nutritional support provider Madeline Yungblut, sport science service providers, PEAK Centre for Human Performance, bike fitting and maintenance providers, Flying Monkey Bike Shop and swim analytics platform to provider TritonWear.
